CHAPTER HISTORY
About The Never Say Never Nu Omicron Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated
The “Never Say Never” Nu Omicron Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on the campus of Duke University on September 22, 1993 by five ambitious women. Charter Members, Latarsha Russell-Hicks, Aileen Hymiah, Greta Cokely Winn, Lonia Faith Abott and Tomeka Hill strove to make a change on campus and bring forth the light of Zeta. They sought to bring an organization to campus that focused less on socializing and instead on the true principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love and Finer Womanhood. In Spring 2000, the chapter was reactivated by the seven dynamic women of “Blue Alliance”: Tenisha Jacobs, Malena Rousseau, Queen Meccasia Earth Zabriskie, Fanta Gibson, Robyn Cox, Lesley Hall and Minda Harris.
Since its inception, members of the “Never Say Never” Nu Omicron Chapter have been dedicated to upholding the principles of Zeta Phi Beta: Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love, and Finer Womanhood. For over 15 years the Chapter has maintained its rich legacy and has served the Duke and Durham community. To this day, the women of the Nu Omicron Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. continue to remain true to the Sorority’s ideals and principles and uplifting the Duke and Durham community.
