Jayla DeLoatch

Soror Jayla DeLoatch is a senior from Prince George's County, Maryland, majoring in Public Policy with a minor in African/ African American Studies and a certificate in Human Rights. She currently serves as President of Nu Omicron and Captain of the Duke University Cheerleading team. On campus, Soror DeLoatch has worked as Secretary and Recruitment Chair for Blue Crew (a female-led group that supports women's sports), and worked for the 2024 Presidential Campaign with Rally North Carolina. She also spends her time mentoring young cheerleaders through a program called Team Impact. Since one human rights class Soror DeLoatch took her sophomore year, she has been interested in human rights, especially in the law sector. She plans to take a gap year working with human rights organizations and see if human rights law is something she truly enjoys. In her free time, she enjoys reading romantic books from fantasy to rom-com, watching any and every movie she can find, and baking.
